We have been loyal to our local supplier and have been stocking their tested racks since 2017. All racks have been hand picked from low milage E46 cars, comprehensively tested for leaks and flow parameters,  rebuilt if necessary and cleaned.

This is a standard replacement rack for most E46 vehicles. Some E46 cars are not equipped with the quick ratio rack so this product may serve as either an exact replacement or an upgrade.

The standard E36 racks are slow and very progressive. This translate to the centre of your steering travel being slow, but increasingly becoming more sensitive as your turn towards full lock. Vague steering at the centre of the steering travel may be great on autobahns where you may prefer less sensitivity in the centre of your rack but this leaves a lot to desire in almost any other style of driving – including street use.

The standard racks also require more turns lock to lock while not having any additional steering travel compared the these purple tag steering racks which only require 3 turns lock to lock and are much more linear, responsive, and direct.

This product is a direct replacement with your existing steering rack. Simply reuse your E36 steering linkage, mounting hardware, and hydraulic lines.

However, you must use a vented inner tie rods – view option 2 or option our E36 conversion package!

The standard E30 racks are comedically slow and require 4 turns lock to lock! A common upgrade is to retrofit this product into your E30. The conversion is relatively easy but requires a few pieces to become possible. This list of pieces includes our E30 rack mounting spacers ($30/pair), vented E46 inner tie rods, E36 outer tie rods, custom steering lines (or risk it all and attempt carefully bending your original lines – with heat to prevent kinking), and a shortened steering linkage.
