After 5 years out of production, our favourite flagship product is finally back.

Unlike the typical steering lock kit, the KAZZ Engineering Steering Angle Adapters are Australian designed and made, providing a proper bolt-on steering lock solution for BMW E36 & E46. Engineered to deliver serious steering angle, quicker steering response and corrected front-end geometry; without cutting, welding or permanently modifying your factory knuckles.

Designed from the ground up, developed through countless revisions and proven through years of real-world drift use. We take a lot of pride in being able to say these are our product; designed, developed, tested and manufactured by KAZZ Engineering. Now back in production and CNC machined from high-strength carbon steel, the latest production run brings one of our most recognised products back to where it belongs.

OVER 60° OF STEERING ANGLE.

The KAZZ adapter changes both the position and leverage of the outer tie-rod pickup, increasing available steering angle while quickening steering response and improving the steering geometry of a lowered E36/E46.

The relocated tie-rod pickup provides:

They’re also particularly well suited to linear-ratio steering racks such as the popular E46 purple-tag rack.

BUILT TO TAKE ABUSE.

Each adapter is CNC machined from high-strength carbon steel and supplied with high-tensile mounting hardware and nyloc nuts.

One of the most important details is something you can’t easily see once they’re installed. The outer tie-rod mounting point isn’t simply drilled through. It features a precision-machined taper matched to the E36 outer tie rod, allowing the ball joint to seat correctly and securely within the adapter. It’s a small detail that matters when you’re repeatedly throwing a car onto full lock, hitting kerbs and loading the steering harder than BMW ever intended.

NO CUTTING. NO WELDING. NO SPECIAL REPLACEMENT PARTS.

We wanted a lock kit that didn’t turn the front end of the car into a collection of custom parts. The adapters retain readily available BMW steering components, meaning normal wear items remain easy to replace without proprietary tie rods, modified knuckles or other difficult-to-source components.

Installation is completely bolt-on and 100% reversible.

THE PRODUCT THAT HELPED DEFINE KAZZ ENGINEERING.

This product started with a simple problem on one of our own drift cars. We wanted more steering angle and quicker steering, but more importantly, we wanted a durable solution for our own drift duties; one that retained factory-style serviceability and didn’t require cutting or welding the original knuckles. So instead of settling for what was available, we engineered our own solution.

What followed was calculated engineering, countless measurements, multiple prototypes and revisions to the geometry and manufacturing process.

Then came the fun part. We went drifting. A lot.

Rigorous testing meant endless amounts of fun in track environments, deliberately putting the adapters through the kind of use they were designed for; full-lock transitions, impacts, kerb strikes and years of general drift-car abuse. The result was a design that proved itself long after the original development and testing was finished.

FITMENT / INSTALLATION

Designed for BMW E36 & E46 front knuckles/hubs using E36 outer tie rods.

Installation by a qualified mechanic is strongly recommended.

For drift applications, we recommend starting with at least 3 mm total toe-out and adjusting the alignment to suit the vehicle, suspension setup and driver preference.

Wheel, tyre and suspension clearance must always be checked throughout the full steering range.
