Why do I need this?
It is common for the parking brake shoes to wear down and eventually not be able to hold your BMW in place anymore.
The parking brake shoes are located under your rear rotor and are designed similarly to a drum brake system.
Remove the rear rotor to inspect your parking brake shoes for the following failure symptoms;
- Worn brake linings
- Cracked linings
- Separated Bonding Material
Drift tip; With new handbrake shoes & cables; many of our customers who practice or compete in drift events find they have a simple yet effective way to quickly lock up the rear wheels to initiate their drift or extend their line. This is namely because the BMW handbrake design is independent to the rear calipers and prove to have ample force when equipped with new parts and serviced appropriately.
