Here are the KAZZ Engineering Gearbox Mounts!
This product has been offered since the beginning of KAZZ Engineering but has been iteratively improved over the years to make we stay at the top of the game! These mount are easy to install and are designed to remove drivetrain deflection.
About the polyurethane material…
I am proud to say that this product is made in house (Brisbane, Australia) with our unique A80 Polyurethane material. This semi-rigid material has been proven to provide the best durability and performance for you BMW! The material properties allow for superior response and drivetrain control while still being able to absorb noises and harshness’ – accomadating for both comfort and performance – this material is the perfect all rounder! We recommend this material for road and track applications.
About the delrin material…
Delrin is an engineering plastic that we offer as a solid mounting option. This rigid material has proven to limit all drivetrain delfection. This means your gearbox and shifter will not move during extreme driving – accomadating for ultimate performance. We recommend this material for track applications.
What to expect…
Installing a sitffer mount will reduce unwanted transmission and shifter movement, transmit more power with added response, and be oil resistant. Unfortunetly the standard rubber bushings wear out and allow the shifter assembly to move during aggresive braking and cornering which makes it difficult to select gears in the moment. This issue is most problematic for those with chassis mount shifters because the shifter assembly will not move with the gearbox! Upgrading to our polyurethane or delrin mount option will reduce some shifter slop and movement.
These are a direct replacement for OEM mounts in E30, E28, E36, E46, E90, E92, E21, E34, and E39.
Install tips…
1) We strongly recommend all products are installed by a qualified mechanic.
2) Tighten the hardware until the washers cannot be moved/spun, and then tighten an extra 1/4 turn. Note that overtightening will result in the bushing to overcompress and buldge. This is unwanted because the compressed material will be stiffened and introduce more vibrations into the cabin.
